McKenzie: "Window is wide open" for Ducks to make post-season noise

Bob McKenzie was on Vancouver’s TSN 1040 on Tuesday morning.

On if the Ducks will be big players on the trade market:

“I think they’ll try. I don’t think there’s any question about that. I think Bob Murray senses that his team, as currently constructed, is very, very good. They’re first in the National Hockey League. Most points. Been the best team, to this point in time. And that the window is wide open for them to make some post-season noise, especially in a year where right now the L.A. Kings are still on the outside looking in. San Jose has been so good in the past, but they’re not as good as they have been. So what was a murderous adventure trying to get out of California in the playoffs and in that division might not be as difficult this year, but it always is hard to do.

“But I would say that yes, Bob Murray will probably go to his owner and say, ‘Listen, anything and everything that’s available to us, if we need to spend a little extra money, this is the year we do it. Because we’ve got as good a chance as we’ve ever had’ - obviously other than the year they actually won the Cup – ‘to do it.’ ”
