McKenzie: Coyotes, Ducks, Kings primed to trade

Bob McKenzie was on Edmonton’s TSN 1260 on Monday morning.

On if there’s one team we should be watching nearing the trade deadline as the linchpin in the process:

“Well, I think that in terms of a seller it’d be the Phoenix Coyotes. They’ve got Antoine Vermette. They’ve got Zbynek Michalek. They possibly have Keith Yandle, although there seems to be talk he might get moved in the summer. But those two players would signal a big move for them.

“And I think teams in the Western Conference, I look to... Anaheim’s first place in the league. I think Bob Murray really senses the door and window have never been more open than they are now. So I would expect him to do anything and everything he can to continue to bolster his lineup.

“And I would think the Los Angeles Kings, who right now are on the outside looking in, will get themselves a defenseman at some point here and will make some moves, even though they’re tight to the cap, that will help get them into the playoffs.

“So I would keep an eye on California teams, and a seller would be Phoenix.”
