Sabres' Stewart on Kane track suit furor: "Just follow the rules"
/Sabres winger Chris Stewart was on Buffalo’s WGR 550 on Friday morning.
Asked to comment on the Evander Kane track suit story in relation to guys following rules on teams, although there was specifically no mention of Kane or the Jets by the host:
“I’m not too sure about the gist of the situation or what really happened or what really went down, but as far as that goes, it’s just accountability. If there’s 21 guys in suits and the other guy is in a track suit, I think you’re going to catch some heat from the boys... It’s about accountability. Just follow the rules. I think it’s pretty self-explanatory.”
On how players know that, and that’s usually the end of that:
“It’s plain and simple. Some guys do get picked on, but I think in this case some guys do ask for it. From the stories you read, you can see how his team handled it. In some ways, I think that was the way to handle it.”
