McKenzie: "I'd be shocked" if Senators, Methot didn't get a deal done

Bob McKenzie was on Montreal’s TSN 690 on Monday morning.

On how some Canadiens fans see Marc Methot as a fit in Montreal:

"He’d be a perfect fit anywhere, really. He’s a good, solid defenceman. Does a real good job when he’s healthy playing on a pair with Erik Karlsson, kind of the stay-at-home defensive conscience that allows Karlsson to kind of roam all over the ice and do what Karlsson does best.

“The talks have been ongoing. They’re picking up. And while it’s too early to say anything’s imminent or that it’s absolutely going to get done, my sense is it’s more likely to get done than not get done with Ottawa.

“We always allow for that little bit of an asterisk to go with it. You just never know in negotiations. But I’d be shocked if they don’t get a deal done, and I think they’re on their way to getting it done.”
