McKenzie: Senators somewhat interested in Jets' Kane
/Bob McKenzie was on Ottawa’s TSN 1200 on Tuesday afternoon.
On if he’s heard anything to suggest the Senators are one of the handful of teams that are very interested in Evander Kane:
"Well, I think they’re interested in him. The definition of very interested is, well, when Winnipeg says, ‘Give us Mark Stone coming back the other way’ and Bryan Murray is not going to give up his first round pick this year. No chance. So that kind of puts them at a bit of a disadvantage.
“So I think they’re interested. I don’t think they’re maybe that interested at the price that would be required right now. So I think Ottawa is like a lot of teams. They’re interested in Evander Kane, but maybe they’re looking at doing a softer deal that doesn’t require such a stiff price at this point.”
