Benning: Canucks not looking to move "our top-end" prospects

Canucks GM Jim Benning was on Vancouver’s TSN 1040 on Thursday afternoon.

On what determines if he’ll be active at the trade deadline or not:

“I think if we can do something to add to our team and make our team better, without selling the future – and that’s draft picks or good young prospects away – we’re going to look into doing everything we can to make the team better.

“If it’s maybe even for a prospect – maybe not for one of our top prospects – but if it’s a prospect that we think we can make a trade for another team’s prospect that’s further ahead in his development, we’ll look at doing something like that. But our ‘A’ prospects, our top-end guys, we’re not looking to move any of them.”
