Giroux on 'hate' (and respect) of Marchand, Crosby
/Philadelphia Flyers center Claude Giroux joined TSN 1200 Monday afternoon. He was asked about his relationship with Pittsburgh Penguins superstar and fellow Hart nominee Sidney Crosby and potentially playing with him for Team Canada at the World Cup of Hockey in 2016.
"Me and Crosby have kind of played against each other a lot. We're in the same division, so we play a lot of games against each other and a lot of face-offs together. It's fun to play against him. He's one of the best players in the league and that's not a secret. Anytime a guy like that is in front of you, you want to do your best and he brings the best out of other players, so it's obviously great.
"Little story - Brad Marchand in juniors. I hated him so much. Every game I wanted to fight him. He's just a little guy running around and chirping and hitting everybody and then we go to the world juniors and he's my roommate for a month and we become almost best friends. So, I mean, the guy you hate the most usually is the guys a little like you and kind of like that."
