The Art of Scouting

The Tennessean points out that Nashville Predators scouts Lucas Bergman and Janne Kekalainen have had relatively high levels of success, but they also know there's always room for improvement.

"Maybe we have to lift that extra stone, or make that extra drive, or go to interview a guy an extra time," Bergman said. "We need to be better, and that's something we need to do. Be more thorough — from 100 percent to 110 percent."

Said Kekalainen: "In my philosophy, kids with strong passions and strong minds make it through, and when you go with that a lot of things go with how you projected it. But I guess science still hasn't come up with measurements to evaluate human minds, and we're only scouts."
