Smyth, 38, hopes for another season with Oilers
/The Edmonton Sun examines Ryan Smyth's quest to snag the Edmonton Oilers franchise power play goals mark before the season ends, while also looking at how No. 94 is holding up health-wise at the age of 38 and what next season might bring in terms of Smyth and the Oilers.
His two-year, $4.5 million contract is about to expire.
“I feel I have something more to give,” he said. “We’ll see. I don’t now exactly what they’re thinking but I feel I can still help.
“Hopefully there’s another deal in the mix. We’ll see how things go throughout the summer.
“But I feel healthy and that’s what I’ve always said - as long as my body is going and my body is healthy I want to continue to play
“I try and relish every chance I get out on the ice because you never know when it could be your last.”
