Koivu, Selanne praise Granlund
/The Pioneer Press recounts Minnesota Wild forward Mikael Granlund's exquisite effort on his overtime goal in Monday's Game 3 of the series against the Colorado Avalanche.
Wild captain Mikko Koivu, a fellow Finn and mentor to the young star, pointed to the concussion that left Granlund on the sidelines the last six games of the regular season.
"Being injured the last couple games of the regular season, it's not easy to step into a playoff series," said Koivu. "So I'm very, very happy for him. Obviously, it was a big goal and should be a big confidence boost for him. He's a good kid on and off the ice. I'm proud of him as a Finn and a teammate."
The article also reflects on what Teemu Selanne said in Sochi.
"He's going to have a great career," the Finnish Flash said then. "This is Granlund's business card for the world to show that he is hungry and can't wait to get out there."
