MacLean: Keith has experience advantage over Karlsson
/An Ottawa Sun article looks at how Erik Karlsson doesn't deserve the all-round defenceman spirit of the Norris Trophy this year because 'he cheats his defensive duties.' Keith, The Sun argues, does deserve the hardware.
Senators coach Paul MacLean compared the two players' talents Friday morning.
"I think his skating ability and his instincts for the game .. there's a resemblance in the way they are both elite skaters," said MacLean. "But I think right now Duncan Keith has the advantage of experience. He's got the advantage of a couple of Stanley Cups that he has played, a couple of Olympic gold medals, he has played at a higher level of games than Erik has as far as the NHL is concerned.
"But they're both Norris Trophy winners and they're both good players and you'd like to have them on your team."
