Flames' Burke expects flurry of deadline deals
/TSN's James Duthie sat down with Flames exec Brian Burke Thursday night for a few minutes. Watch it here. Here are some of the highlights of what Burke had to say.
"I think the Vanek and Moulson situations affect when our players would come into play, so it's been pretty quiet - but it's picking up now."
Flames have extended a contract offer to Michael Cammalleri and the two sides have agreed to keep talking. As of now, the Flames are entertaining offers.
Burke basically says that Sean Monahan and Mark Giordano would really be the only ones who qualify as his untouchables, as much as any player can be one.
Says a couple of guys he wants to talk to about the GM role he can't contact until after the season. He's not sure if that'll mean regular season or after the playoffs or draft or what.
Burke expects a flurry of deals in the next week. Lots of chatter.
'Not a chance' that he'll be the GM of the team next season.
