Dreger on Blackhawks, Vermette, "messy off-season in Chicago"
/Darren Dreger was on Winnipeg’s TSN 1290 on Wednesday afternoon.
As part of a discussion on the impact of Patrick Kane’s injury to the Chicago Blackhawks:
“This is going to get complicated fellas, and that’s what the salary cap world is all about.
“I’m sure that Stan Bowman will do whatever he can to add a rental piece, an expiring contract. He’s going to need a body, and I think he’s interested in Antoine Vermette.
“I mean, it is going to be a messy off-season in Chicago. And it may come at the expense of Patrick Sharp or Bryan Bickell - or maybe even both - as the Chicago Blackhawks have to find a way to get down to the cap for next season.”
