Richards: Gaborik 'fits the mold' for Kings

Los Angeles Kings forward Mike Richards was on TSN 1290 Wednesday afternoon, touching on everything from the Philadelphia Flyers promoting Ron Hextall to several playoff-related issues.

On teammate Marian Gaborik:

"He's been really good for us. I mean, everyone sees the goals and the game sheet after the game and he always contributes that way, but he's a really great teammate, to be honest. He comes to the rink, really works out, he fits the mold really well with what I just mentioned too, about guys pushing each other to be and a guy who's been through a lot and who has had a lot of successful seasons in Minnesota and with New York and into Columbus too.

"He brings a lot to the table. He brings a lot to this team. He's got a calm about him that I think just trickles through our lineup when things aren't going so well. I think he's just a quiet guy, but, you know, not afraid to come into a new team and be vocal too. So he's been great for us, not only on the ice, off the ice and he fits the team really well."
