Senators like Lazar's 'comprehensive game'
/Randy Lee, the Ottawa Senators’ assistant general manager and director of player development, had a number of complimentary comments – via The Edmonton Journal - concerning blue chip prospect Curtis Lazar.
“We like the way he plays,” Lee said. “A lot of the time you will see junior players that have certain areas of their game they are very strong in and then have some bigger weaknesses.”
Lee noted, “He’s one of those guys that has a comprehensive game. He’s worked on every aspect and a big thing for us is how he is without the puck — reading situations and being able to respond the right way. He’s really taken that to another level.”
Also: “In general, his style of play is a good fit for any NHL team because he’s a very competitive, solid two-way player,” said Lee. “Every team in the league likes those type of players.”
Finally: “He is so genuine,” said Lee. “That’s the bottom line with him. He’s a genuine kid who appreciates the game, loves coming to the rink and loves the challenge of being a player.”
