Perception of Stars has 'completely changed'

DallasNews.com reflects on how 'the Stars named a new GM, a new coach and added a new No. 1 center. They changed their look, changed their personality and changed their reputation in the NHL in pretty much 12 months.'

“The perception is completely changed, and I think that’s both locally and nationally,” Stars president Jim Lites said. “The feeling right now is we’re moving up, and I think at the heart of that process is Tom buying the team and doing what he’s done as an owner.”

Owner Tom Gaglardi noted, “I think if you look at a team like Minnesota, they made it last year and that helped them this year. If you look at a team like Colorado or ourselves, we’re breaking long strings of not making it, and we had to learn some lessons.”

On his team's Game 6 collapse against the Anaheim Ducks:

“It was really disappointing, really hard to deal with. But I think, looking back, we can use it in a positive way,” Gaglardi said. “I hope, and I believe it’s true, the players won’t forget this for a long time. I think they’ll use it all summer as motivation.”
