Islanders acquire Halak
/Allan Walsh, via Newsday, on if Halak would sign long-term with Isles: "Absolutely. The Islanders are uniquely situated -- they have some very good young players on their roster and some more good young players coming up. They took a step back this season, but I think it's temporary. Why wouldn't we be interested in talking?"
More Snow on Halak, via The New York Post: “He’s been a pretty solid goalie in this league for a good number of years. Obviously he’s battled some injuries here and there. Other than that, he’s shown great ability to keep the puck out of the net.”
The Post asserts Halak is believed to be looking in the three-to-five year range at around $4 million per season.
“It’s still a long way from getting him signed,” Snow said. “It’s obviously going to come down to money and term, like it usually does.”
Snow also indicated, “We would still like to bring Nabby back, if it’s under the right circumstances.”
