Crosby: Penguins need energy and urgency at Consol
/The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review outlines how the Penguins have been fading at Consol Energy Center over the past few months, much like their winning percentage at home has dropped too much in recent springs during the playoffs.
The Pens close out the regular season with three games in Pittsburgh (Detroit, Philadelphia and Ottawa) and then will have home ice when the post-season begins.
“There's a certain level of comfort when you're at home, but just because you're at home doesn't mean everything just falls into place when you go on the ice,” Sidney Crosby said. “You've still got to do certain things and play with the energy and the urgency that you need whether it's at home or on the road.”
He also notes, “You feed off the crowd at home, but you can't depend on that when it comes to playing your game. That's something we have to do ourselves.”
