Babcock on choosing the right role models

Michigan Live profiles Detroit Red Wings defenseman Niklas Kronwall and how he has taken on a larger leadership role with the team because of the lengthy injuries to Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk.

Really good observations from his teammates detailing how Kronwall, still often underrated around the league, makes an impact.

The best quote and insight, as always, comes from the Red Wings bench boss in a manner that can be applied in athletics or in life.

"Kronner does it right each and every day and he's a guy you should be following," Babcock said. "That's another issue sometimes with young guys – are they following the right people? You got to pick out the right people and the people you want to model after and make sure you're doing it right.

"Kronner is the guy. He does it right every day. It's not about Nik Kronwall ever. It's about the best decisions for the team. He plays hard, he's committed, he does things right. To me he's excellent."
