Streit happy Flyers signed MacDonald
/Newsday recalls how the Flyers traded for Mark Streit's rights from the New York Islanders last June, then promptly signed him to a four-year, $22 million deal.
Before the March trade deadline, the Flyers and Isles got together for another deal, this time with Andrew MacDonald headed to Philly. Before the playoffs began, the Flyers signed MacDonald to a six-year, $30 million pact.
"It's great for him," Streit said. "He's a really good player. He's improved over the years and established himself as one of the top D in the league. I was happy for the trade, and that's one thing. Locking him up is another and he's a great addition. He's happy to have that out of the way and concentrate on hockey."
