Iginla plans on staying with Bruins
/Jarome Iginla, via CSNNE.com, shares how much he wants to win a Stanley Cup, which also includes some reflection on the 2004 Cup Finals loss his Calgary Flames had to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Today though, Iginla is grateful to be on the Bruins.
“This is as good a chance as I believe I’ve had [to win a Cup]. I’ve been extremely blessed to play as long as I have in the NHL. I have great, great memories. I’m having a great time now,” said Iginla. “I’d love to win with his group. But as far as [a career being] complete [with a Cup], I hope to win a Cup this year and be a part of it. But I also plan on playing next year regardless. But I’d love to win this year.”
A recent story (linked below) indicated the Bruins and Iginla have already held preliminary contract talks, but the Bruins will have to wait until July 1 to sign him for cap-related reasons.
