Franzen's time to shine for Red Wings

The Detroit Free Press notes Red Wings winger Johan Franzen's past playoff success, of which his teammates are well aware.

“Mule’s one of those guys, for whatever reason, he really likes the big games, and the playoffs in particular,” defenseman Niklas Kronwall said. “He’s had a few outstanding runs, and hopefully he can get scoring here for us in the playoffs. Even if he’s not scoring, he does so many other things for us. He’s a big part of this team, whether he’s scoring or not.”

Franzen, for part, offered a few salient observations.

On scoring: “That’s not why I go out and play games, to score goals. I got a lot of things to do before that. It’s not even fifth on the list when you go through a game.”

On if he's worried about Bruins' physical play: “No. We’ve been talking about that the last nine years I’ve played here — every playoffs, how tough the other teams are. Usually, not a problem.”
