Schneider on contract talks, possible Brodeur return

New Jersey Devils goaltender Cory Schneider is slated to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2015 and the team cannot official sign him to an extension until after July 1 of this summer. But Schneider tells Fire & Ice there have also been no unofficial discussions on a new contract so far.

The goaltender wasn't going to play the speculation game as far as Martin Brodeur possibly re-signing with the Devils, also saying, "That’s up to him and Lou to decide, so that’s not really my business."

“I’m more worried about finishing out this year,” Schneider said. “I haven’t given too much thought yet to this summer or next season, so I can’t give you an honest answer right now.”
