St. Louis fighting through adversity with Rangers
/Candid comments from New York Rangers winger Martin St. Louis, via The New York Post, from Saturday on his struggles.
“I haven’t gone through this in a long time, so it’s a little bit of unchartered territory, meaning that I haven’t experienced that type of adversity in a long time,” said St. Louis. “It reminds me a lot of [2005-06] after the lockout, when we won the Stanley Cup [in 2004] and I had won a lot of individual awards.
“That next year, I felt like everybody was watching you. It was a tough year. But I came out of that one and I know I’m going to come out of this,” he said. “I’m getting tested mentally, no doubt. I have to keep fighting. I’m going to come through this as a better player.”
Great comments from Brad Richards in the article too, saying he can handle the job of getting St. Louis going again.
St. Louis did, incidentally, say his family has been adjusting well.
