Halak will test free agency

CSNWashington.com reports Capitals goaltender Jaroslav Halak fully intends to test the waters this summer as an unrestricted free agent. The Caps have also not discussed a contract extension with him.

“This will be my first chance to do it,” he said. “But not everyone is looking for a goalie.”

Halak's wife and infant child have been in Slovakia with family since the Olympic break and Halak is renting an apartment in D.C.
