Brewer helps lead Lightning

Good read from The Tampa Bay Times on how Eric Brewer has embraced a leadership role with the Lightning.

When Martin St. Louis was traded to the New York Rangers, Brewer was given the "A" that had been Steven Stamkos'.

"He's been such an unbelievable leader without (a letter)," coach Jon Cooper said of Brewer, "we would have been remiss not to give him one."

Good quote from Brewer though. Cooper describes how Brewer has been even more effective averaging three fewer minutes of ice time this year, thanks mainly to Radko Gudas and Victor Hedman.

Asked how reconciled himself to playing less, Brewer said, "Well, you don't. If you're happy playing less minutes, you're a loser, but you deal with it. You're constantly trying to get better and work on your game and help the team win."
