Babcock thinks Price was 'excellent' at Olympics

Detroit Red Wings coach Mike Babcock was asked about Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price from their shared experience in Sochi at the Olympics.

"Well, I always knew he was a huge talent," said Babcock (around the three minute mark of the video). "I didn't know he was a great pro. You don't know that until you're around a guy each and every day. I was impressed with him. He's as talented a guy as there is in the league, there's no question about that. Everyone knows that.

"I think when you play in Montreal as a young guy especially, you face a lot of things that a lot of players in the league wouldn't face. So probably going to the Olympics for two weeks was probably like two weeks off for him, to tell you the truth, as far as being in the situation that way.

"He was excellent. What I like about him was like Ken Dryden did years and years ago; when you're playing on a really good team, he never generated one shot into two for the other team. He just made the saves he should and made the big ones.

"He never ever generated offense for the other team, so to me he was excellent."
