Hitchcock on Blues: 'We're not a big team.'

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch points out that Blues coach Ken Hitchcock is puzzled by the perception around the NHL that his squad is big and heavy.

“We’re not big,” Hitchcock said. “We maybe play bigger than we are, but we’re not a big team. You compare us to teams like Anaheim or Los Angeles, we’re not a big team. But everybody wants to play a big lineup against us, because of the way we play.

“Sure, we play hard and we play physical like a lot of teams do in the West, but we’re not this big team. I think people are anticipating that we’re like some of the other teams and we’re not built that way.”

Blues defenseman Roman Polak and former Blues center Jay McClement share their thoughts on the subject in the article as well.
