Nabokov, 38, may keep playing

Newsday wonders whether or not goaltender Evgeni Nabokov could be on the Islanders' radar for next season for a back-up role.

Three items of particular interest:

1) 'After watching both of his young backups, Kevin Poulin and Anders Nilsson, fail to impress this season, Garth Snow will be searching for a starter on the trade or free-agency market this summer.'

2) 'Nothing has been seriously discussed as of yet, according to people close to Nabokov, but it's still early.'

3) Nabokov: "I feel like I can still do it. Rob Blake told me, 'When it's time, you'll know.' I don't know yet."

Nabokov will turn 39 in late July.
