Spezza tunes out trade noise
/The trade speculation surrounding Senators captain Jason Spezza hasn't really died down much since the early March deadline passed, and The Ottawa Sun examines what might be the best timeline for the team to trade Spezza, should that be the route Bryan Murray chooses with any sort of shakeup this summer.
Spezza, for his part, has tried to tune everything out.
"At this point I haven't given any thought to it at all," he said Sunday. "We're so in the thick of things right now, that's the farthest thing from my mind."
Also: "I've been here (for 12 years) and it's always been the same," he said. "I didn't expect anything to change (as captain). When things go well, they go well. When they go bad, usually you get blamed. So it's nothing out of the norm for me.
"It's the realisms of playing in Canada, I guess, and playing in the same city for a long time. You just have to handle it and push yourself and try to get better."
