Devils remain Jagr's first choice
/The Star-Ledger reports Jaromir Jagr's first choice of teams for which he'd like to play next season will once again be the New Jersey Devils.
“I haven't talked to them. That’s my agent’s job to do,” Jagr said.
“They gave me an opportunity to play a lot in every situation. Maybe not lately, but most nights I was playing around 20 minutes. That’s what I love. There are probably not many teams than can give me that. When you like the game, you want to play.”
Jagr on aging and the free agency market:
“I’m 42. It’s not that easy,” Jagr cautioned. “No matter how good you play and how good a season you have, a lot of them look at your age. It’s a lot easier when you’re young. You don’t even have to be good.
“I was happy I got signed last year I didn’t have that many options. It’s not like they were throwing contracts at me. The salaries went down for a lot of teams.”
