No imminent deals for Coyotes
/According to AZCentral.com, the Phoenix Coyotes are on the prowl for someone to fit inside the top-nine - preferably a left wing. But...
“There’s nothing imminent,” GM Don Maloney said. “I don’t feel like I’m hot on the track of a big deal. I think I’m just like everybody else. I’m looking and searching and kicking a lot of tires and seeing if I can find something that can help us.”
A few more relevant notes from that article too.
Any trade would basically be a dollar-for-dollar deal, since the team has maxed out the internal budget.
Also, as long as the team stays in playoff contention, Maloney won't deal any of his six UFAs as rentals to other teams.
“Our feeling is let’s finish the year down this path and maybe reset at the end of the year,” Maloney said. “If we don’t achieve where we want to go, then we might have to do some significant changes or go a different route in the off-season.”
