McKenzie: Senators' MacLean "probably feeling some heat"
/Bob McKenzie was on Edmonton’s TSN 1260 on Monday morning.
As part of a discussion on which NHL coaches could be on the hot seat:
“I think Paul MacLean in Ottawa is probably feeling some heat. The Senators have had two really bad performances. Last Monday against the Detroit Red Wings, and... against the Florida Panthers... That was a horrendous game against the Florida Panthers. They played a little better against Tampa and got beat pretty handily on the weekend. They had a really good game against the St. Louis Blues squished in there. But I think the heat is starting to get dialed up in Ottawa because even the games they win, more nights than not, it’s the goaltending that’s holding them in.
“So I think that’s an area to watch. But nothing imminent. And I think Bryan Murray would probably prefer to make a trade than fire a coach. So I think we’ll keep an eye on that.”
