LeBrun: Spezza enjoying "tranquil" Dallas life

Pierre LeBrun was on TSN 1200 Wednesday afternoon.

On if he’d advise Jason Spezza to take the security a contract extension from the Dallas Stars, or go to free agency in a year where he’d command big dollars:

“I think if it’s a pretty strong offer, and I suspect the Stars aren’t going to fool around when it’s time to talk money, I think I might take it. And one of the reasons I would is actually for off-ice reasons. I think Jason is really happy right now. He loved his time in Ottawa, but I think he’s really happy now with his family to be in a very quiet place. And when I talked to him last month, I mean, no one recognizes him anywhere in Dallas. I mean, after all, he plays for the Stars and not the Cowboys. And I think that’s come at a good time in his life, where I think he likes the sort of tranquil life of being a hockey player in the Southern U.S., and I think that will play potentially a big factor in his decision as well.”
