Hockey Night in Canada: Saturday's Headlines

Damien Cox and Elliotte Friedman were in studio in the second intermission of the Leafs - Red Wings Hockey Night in Canada game.

Cox: Jonathan Drouin is on rehab assignment in AHL. Had the GWG in his first outing. Might only be a week down there.

Cox: Hockey Canada is targeting Curtis Lazar for the world juniors. Not sure if Sens will loan him or not.

Friedman: Agent for pending RFA T.J. Brodie and Flames are "working to try to get a deal done."

Friedman: Team Canada would be interested in having Martin Brodeur play for them at the Deutschland Cup if he doesn't have an NHL deal by then.

Cox: Ilya Bryzgalov's agent reached out to Colorado Avalanche last week to see if they need the goalie. They said, 'We'd like you, but we're not interested right now.' 

Friedman: Avs fired director of amateur scouting. 

Cox: Chris Pronger's No. 6 will be retired by Peterborough Petes on November. 2.
