Dreger on Flyers: ‘Something is going to give there’

Coaches have been fired. Players are beginning to be dealt. How much longer will it be before the Flyers join the action?

Darren Dreger had a Monday morning First Up radio hit on Toronto’s TSN 1050, and as part of the discussion reflected on the Flyers 6-0 loss to the Maple Leafs over the weekend.

“I’ve got to tell you, just to revisit that Flyers game for a moment, watching that game - I was hitting everybody I knew associated with the Flyers postgame,” noted Dreger. “Because that game had a real ugly aroma to it from Philadelphia’s standpoint.

“I can’t believe that Ron Hextall is going to sit on the sidelines for much longer. Something is going to give there. Their goaltending in that game wasn’t good enough. I think it’s been pretty much inconsistent all year long.

“We’ve seen four coaches fired already. Hextall is not going to wait a whole bunch longer if they don’t turn things around.”

The 10-11-2 Flyers are 1-4-1 in their past six outings, and occupy seventh spot in the Metropolitan Division.
